Results back today which confirmed what the said originally as breast cancer. The results also indicate that it has spread to her lymph nodes.

My wife SIL had stage 4, with chemo and drug therapy it was cleared up, they have new drugs that were not available a few years ago.

Tumors bigger than originally thought. This has caused a change to Stage 3, and forces a CAT scan, bone scan, and genetic testing.

5/9 CAT scan and genetic testing.
5/10 date night at the Durham Bulls game
5/11 my 58th birthday
5/12 bone scan and Mother’s Day
5/16 chemo starts (6 doses, 3 weeks apart)
Surgery after that, then radiation 5 days a week for 5 weeks after healed from surgery.

I know you have enough headache already, but pay attention to the genetic testing and see if that means your daughter needs to be extremely vigilant.

There is definitely a lot of debate over genetic testing for things like BRCA, because finding out one is at high risk when young can have negative effects on quality of life. that's something you folks may have to weigh.
