Prayers for a friend

At about 2:00 my fire pager went off for a structure fire. Upon responding, I saw a friend/acquaintance of mine standing off to the side. When I had a free moment, I went to speak with him and found out that it was his house. He wasn't home, and his wife and kids are at the beach. I have spoken to him a few times about joining the fire department, including just yesterday. It looks like the house and contents will be a total loss. This will be a difficult time for them with 2 young children. I couldn't imagine being in their shoes. Please just say a prayer for them.

I noticed you're in Hickory which isn't far from me. I don't know his situation or if he would be open to it but if he has any needs, maybe people would be willing to help him out....especially with the kids. If I have kids items that aren't being used that he can use, I'll gladly give them to him.
