Not sure if I'm asking in the right place but does anyone know if the PSA gun store in Denver NC does trad-in on gun's at their location now? They have a few gun's I want but they didn't do trade-in when they first opened and I can't get anyone on the phone at their location to ask if they do. So has anyone been to the store and know if they are accepting trade-in guns now?

I don’t recall seeing any used guns while I was in there last Friday, so I’d say probably not.
Regardless, that’s probably one of your worst routes to get the guns you want. Sell them here for a good price and I bet you’ll get way more than a gun shop or pawn shop will offer you.

I know that I won't get what they are worth and I have some of the guns on here for sale or trade and I will be putting the rest on shortly. But I was thinking about trading one or two of my guns towards another gun they have in stock since I can't find it anywhere else and it's not a bad price for the gun either compared to other places. But I don't get to shoot the gun's that I will be trading that much and I'm tired of trying to find a better deal and when I find the gun I want I can't afford it at that moment and when I have the money for it I can't find it anywhere lol. So I'm thinking about just biting the bit and just trading in for it. But I don't know if they accept trade's or not but they probably don't knowing my luck.

I would discount the stuff you have for sale - it will sell if it is a good deal, and even a discounted price here will be more than any trade value from PSA

I have the stuff listed for trade right now to try to find someone here that has the gun I want because I rather do the deal here on the forum but I haven't had any luck but I will give it some more time. I don't know what to price one of them for because they don't make it anymore but I know that it's worth more than $1,000 but I don't know a exact amount and everything I looked up on it was all over the place but it wasn't under $1000 anywhere. It's a STI (Staccato) Total Eclipse double stack 45acp with two mags in great condition so if you might have a idea of the value of it or know where to get it appraised at for a accurate fair price I will post a cash price for it. I just don't want to try and over charge someone or rip myself off too bad.

I just looked at your for sale posts and saw your latest reply above and I think I see the issue. You’re trying to trade. This complicates values, limits your audience, and limits your selection.

Think of your guns as a form of currency. They’re not USD, but what you want to buy from PSA is in USD, so they have to be converted. If you do the conversion by selling them privately, great, it’s now easy to go buy what you want. However, if you want a gun shop to convert your currency, you’re now asking them for a currency exchange service AND a gun, so you’re going to pay for that. Using a common currency (USD) is far more efficient 98% of the time than trying to trade or barter.

I have no clue what your STI is worth but if you sell it here for 20% off fair market value, you’ll still be far ahead of the ~50% a gun shop is going to offer. Then you can take that cash and buy whatever you want wherever you want.

My $.02

I agree and if I can get a accurate estimate of the STI I will most likely do that and buy the other gun. But I will see if someone on the forum wants to work out a trade deal for it for the rest of the weekend and if nobody bites I will post a price for it to sell that way I have a day or so to find out the estimated value is for the STI. I know what the CZ is worth atleast.

I see what you mean now about finding a value for your STI. I searched everywhere I could think of and the best I come to is $1k-2k haha. MSRP was like $1600, they normally sold for $1400, the last known prices are around $1200, but that was years ago. I saw some old dealer sales for $1400-1600 for used ones, but again these are really old listings.
There are no current STI/Staccato models of similar spec, nor other manufactures of similar quality that I could find. This sounds like a Gunbroker item to me; find that classic STI fan that likes the oddballs. I’m actually curious what a gun shop would give you since relevant comps are super difficult to find. Good luck!

Well said , and if you want to convert firearms into dollars you have t

While I disagree, based on current trends, Most folks that want an STI type gun are not looking at them for concealment. And the masses have decided that 9mm is the only acceptable round for a concealed semi auto

This is exactly what I was talking about lol. But I will try to get it appraised in multiple places and also on the forum like another member suggested and see what the average appraisal value is and go from there.

@Ampatriot

my experiences w selling to big box gun shops is exactly as noted by others. usually offered around half of what I would expect value of the firearm and I’m not the type who tries to sell my used equipment anywhere near new prices. If it’s an out-of-production STI id personally either sell on the forum or gunbroker it. The latter is a bit of up-front work but not terrible. I’ve sold a few oddball pistols through gunbroker and got more $$ than any gunshop would offer as gunbroker can reach the buyers who actually value the firearm. In terms of forum trades or sales, your current listing is too complex to reach the few who are interested in an STI. Those of us who are P-07 TDA types usually aren’t looking for a 1911 and vice versa. Just list your pistols for cash value and you’re more likely to move them or at least get offers.

It's cool I'm probably going to keep them if they don't go to someone this weekend which is almost over anyway. But my main question was if anyone knows if PSA at the Denver NC store does accept trade's at all? Not just for the gun's I was thinking about trading for a gun that I want but I have had a few people I know that have asked me if the Denver NC store takes trade-in guns also and I have not been to that store yet and I can't get a answer on the phone when I call the store so I don't know if they do or not. So that was my main question if anyone has been to that PSA location in Denver NC and knows if they do or not?

I'll stop today and ask. I drive by there 2 or 3 times a day

I dont think any of PSA stores do trade ins. I have been to several and havent seen any.
I also know @Ampatriot loves a good trade deal.

Sell the STI for around a grand, thats more than any gun store will give you for it and a fair price. Then go buy what you want.
