Incoming Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) spoke to Breitbart News Wednesday and made clear she will “carry a firearm each day in D.C.”

Good for her ... I could not do it ... I’d be afraid I’d channel my inner Clint Smith at some point on Piglosi, AOC, etc.

"...She explained that as a representative, she will not be driven from her residence to the capitol “in an armored vehicle.” Rather, her safety will frequently be in her own hands. 'I am my security,' Boebert observed..."

I wonder how large of a personal security staff she's authorized to "deputize".

Hmmm

I don’t know why but the picture in my mind of Boebert besides her Glock also has her with a collapsible baton in her hand ready to beat down some POS criminal ... be it a hood rat thug or Nutsy Pelosi.

I suppose she can do it because she is an elected official who is immune to arrest for doing such things. From what I can gather, the immunity was granted so that political enemies could not have each other arrested on trumped up charges to keep them from voting. That is not a bad thing but seems to be abused quite a bit by our elected officials just as diplomatic immunity is frequently abused by diplomats.

Go Girl. Carry it proudly. Carry it openly. Let your example become the new normal.

Wow.
I am absolutely sure that her status as a member of congress had absolutely nothing to do with her getting her DC permit approved.
She probably has one for The Glorious Socialist People's Republic of Marylandistan as well...

Yep, both of those permits are easy as pie to get...

Also for those of you out there who think it is reasonable for her to have a gun permit from one of the most restricted regimes, remember that this is feinstein's argument as well.

I don't have much problem with her taking advantage of the privileges of office as long as she continues to fight for the rights of the rest of us.
If she turns into a weasel, I'll reassess.

I don't get it. She's on our side. She runs or ran the Shooter's Grill in Rifle, CO. we're staff and customers are openly armed. She's taking advantage of certain loopholes to flaunt and promote the 2nd Amendment in the heart of enemy territory and here we have members criticizing her for being eliteist, instead of supporting her as being the underdog??

Id love for her and others to start openly carrying. The images of them carrying like the rest of us without the guns magically coming alive and spraying death all over is one that needs to be seen. The antis have been using dishonest marketing to portray gun owners in a negative light its time we start a marketing campaign of our own to show the truth

Our side is so pathetic.

apparently it has been somewhat disabled, but i'm guessing it could be re-abled in a hurry. should get some sights though.

She should carry a case with dueling pistols to bring that tradition back to Congress.
I have been secretly hoping this for years.
If you're willing to force everybody to live under your laws, you should be willing to defend them.

It did say in the article that she went through the course and obtained a DC carry permit. Those of you saying she’s getting special treatment, believe it or not, DC is actually a “Shall Issue” district and any of us can get one. Now the rules in place, even with having one, are absurd and not even worth my time IMO but nonetheless you can get a permit and carry there if you want.

Really?
I thought that they had agreed to honor outside permits, for a summer, and then had gone back to there sorcerous ways, becoming a draconian burden on the rest of us...

Yup, seems it was after a case was won back in 2009, then in 2014 a Judge ruled that their carry ban was unconstitutional.

I am glad she has the permits. It helps keep low information people from going quite as crazy. I would certainly not suggest she is an elitist at this time just because of the immunity granted her by her being elected to her position. I am glad the immunity exists to keep arrests on trumped up charges (they certainly have been rather common in the last 4 years) from being as powerful a political weapons.

Anybody catch the story about her being accused of having a gun fetish, because of this backdrop to her Zoom calls?

I’m really liking her take on things...

”We all took an oath to uphold and secure the Constitution, every single one of us," Boebert, an outspoken Second Amendment supporter, said when it was her turn to speak. "Our first act as members of Congress was to take our oath of office, and please allow me to remind you a portion of that oath, the chair and every other member here solemnly swore that we would support and defend the Constitution of the United States…The Second Amendment is very much a part of the Constitution of the United States."

As members mulled a firearms ban during committee hearings, she asked Chairman Raul Grijalva, D-Ariz., whether a handful of other constitutional amendments would be infringed upon.

“How about the Nineteenth Amendment? Can women vote in this committee?" asked Boebert. "Why does anyone think that they can cherry-pick the Second Amendment and say this is the one enumerated right that we can take away from people?"

"Why stop with the Second Amendment?" she continued. "Let’s go ahead and quarter soldiers in this committee room. There’s plenty of soldiers in the parking garage at ‘Fort Pelosi’ in Washington, D.C."

She is not backing down is she? Not sure about how her Colorado District is drawn (I know it’s a rural district pretty much western CO with only Grand Junction as a ”big city”) but you gotta wonder what Dims are planning for that race in 2022 to make her House seat change hands. She took the election with just over 51% of the vote so the Dims might target her because she won’t take crap from them.
