R. Lee Ermey and Full Metal Jacket documentary

I got to meet R Lee, took my picture with him, I need to find it. But he took the time to talk for a couple of minutes. I got to tell him about me watching Full Metal Jacket when it came out when I was 7, and explained that my dad is a Marine lol. Great person.

Excellent, thanks for posting.

forgot about Boys in Company C. RLE has a "good" role in Mississippi Burning as well. Hoo Rah!

Got to meet and greet with him at SHOT 2007. The first day of SHOT we all wanted to get a handshake and picture, but the line to see "Gunny" was longer than any line in the entire show! We caught him on about the third day. One of our local folks was with Glock Professional then and worked the booth with Gunny-they were fast friends and on first name(s) terms.

At SHOT 2003 (on a side note) got to meet Leslie Easterbrook (the bodacious SGT Callahan from Police Academy). She was repping for HiViz Sights then, and was a gun girl. Found out she shot a lot of shotguns (skeet, and maybe trap or sporting clays?). She was 100% down to Earth and a class act. I was SOMEWHAT disappointed she wasn't as tall as "SGT Callahan" (actually about 5' 8") and was actually a red head, and not blonde. I told her flat out that I was an upstanding happily married Christian man, BUT that having seen Police Academy when I was 17 years old, she (as SGT Callahan) had a huge part of my brain she got to live in, rent-free for several years after the movie. šŸ˜‚ I also told her my nickname in BLET was "Tackleberry", and she told me that David Graf (the actor that played Tackleberry) had died a couple years before, which I did not know at the time. My buddy and I started to leave after about 10 minutes, telling her we'd taken up enough of her time, but she said "No-you guys hang around-you guys are cool!" We stood by for another 10 or 15 minutes. She knew Asheville and said she came there some, and even asked where to shoot when she was back in the area.
