Range report 3-5-2020, new gun.

I did shoot one box of Magtech yesterday, last shooting of the day. Along with mostly the bulk whatever it was. I think I'm just getting used to the gun, things were better on day 2.

I should take new target pics and show the order I shot them in, then maybe you could tell what's up. I usually number them as I go, but forgot till I was packing up to head home. LoL.

Do you find yourself adjusting your grip between shots? Do you do any dry fire practice?
Blasting away: I've slowed down a lot, mostly from being broke and not able to run thru so many rounds a session!

I do sometimes adjust grip between shots....tell me more about that. I've noticed it's mostly when it's warm in there. It was hot yesterday, at least for me, my glasses were fogging up.

I do a lot of stuff at home: drawing (Billy seems pleased with progress there), dime drills, grip exercises with springs, arm exercises, presentation, etc. LOTS of dry fire.

Dry fire: I'm brilliant at keeping the dime on the front of the gun, (or even with no dime) I'm keeping the front of the gun still as I press the trigger, and if I could only do that at the range, I'd be the queen of the world! lol.

The fact that the slide isn't locking back at the end of the 15 round magazines shows me that I'm keeping the gun still as I press the trigger.....I maybe made it dip once out of many, many magazines yesterday. I need to count the little baggies I portioned the rounds in to get a count for yesterday, but I'm sure it was over 200, and I did buy 50 more at the range (Magtech)....is any of this telling you anything?
Since I did better yesterday, I might just need more shooting with this gun.
Edit: I shot 300 rounds yesterday, 250 of the bulk and 50 Magtech.

my eye developed the ability to follow that front sight through recoil.
I can sort of follow it, but I think I'm still too new to do it consistently....and here is my big issue....inconsistency! LoL.
There sure is a lot more than I thought that goes into this "hobby" I've gotten so fond of!

"I like this one, it goes Bang!"
Be nice! LOL. I like them ALL...they (mostly) go bang!

All I do is post a range report! And an occasional report on a new-to-me gun! LoL.
See you tomorrow my Darling with your new Post Bait!!!!! Bring several of your ammo sacks!!!
I'll be ready to roll tomorrow! I better go count my little sacks of ammo, may have to pay your buddy in Wagram a visit for more!
Edit: Will 300 rounds suffice?

The first thing I would check to diagnose the slide not locking back is your grip, 9 times out of 10, that’s the cause. You’re probably letting your thumb ride the slide release, it still happens to me from time to time if I’m not careful.

Or the mag could be the issue, especially if it is an early gen Glock 48. Shield says on their site that some early gen frames may experience slide lock issue and to use a +power spring to fix it. I have an early gen 43X myself and have zero slide lock issues with the S15 mags.

I don't think it is the ammo, I use the same stuff and don't have low left problem. 1,000 rd CCI Blazer Brass 115gr.

Same here. I stocked up on a few thousand a while back and have shot nothing else (in volume) on the range for months. The only shots that stray are my fault.

Have fun tomorrow, I’ve got to work.... Tell Billy and RS that me and Tommie said hi.

So I never ran into that issue but it is an eariler production g48, it was on of the first ones to come into cgg. I almost wonder if it could ammo related as well, I only ran self defense ammo through the s15 mags and it always locked back.
@Millie thanks again for the trade, I really do appreciate it.
For the record: I love the glock 48 and will own another or the 43x at some point in the future. Just right now I am looking to have simpler load outs and that means making some hard decisions. If it's not 9mm, 556, 22lr or 308 I have purged it. Nothing wrong with other calibers, just making things easier on my self.

i highly doubt its ammo related. If you didn’t have any issues with it when you owned it then I think they pretty much narrows it down to her riding the release with her thumb.

Billy will be scrutinizing my grip yet again, I'm sure.
Though I was aware of where that other thumb was and it was on the frame, not the slide. Billy will tell us all we need to know later today!

In an unrelated issue, I believe you said you had a date with a younger guy, and then you were on cff at 3:59am.
good night or bad night?
