I'm looking to have a model 25 or 625 cut down to @2", round butted and cut for moon clips (25), hammer bobbed and refinished in a basic black.

Also, would you do this to a 25 or buy a 625 and sell the 25?

Rack it back in Mebane is a good bunch of guys. It's a bit of a trip for you though.

Do it to a 625. If nothing else, it’s already round butted and the stainless finish is easier to deal with. You can always have it coated when you have it dialed in just right.

With that said. I went down the same path and ultimately, N frames are just too big. I think @Tim went down the same rabbit hole with a 3” 625.

Yup. A 3” 625 was my “holy grail” gun. Found one on the blue forum, paid going rate (arm/leg) for it and was super excited.

Got it and…meh. Didn’t carry any better than the 4”. Less accurate than the 5”. Just didn’t see the point once I had it in hand.

That said…you do you! If that’s what tickles your fancy, go for it!

I plan to occasionally pocket carry and on the belt the rest. I had a 625-10 (scandium frame) and that thing was worse that a 340PD. Recoil drove it straight back into the web of your hand. Trying to make a heavier version of that.
