Relocating from Raleigh to Hickory/Newton

I'm not new to the site, but never posted in this thread when I first joined several years ago so figured this was a good time. I am moving in the coming weeks from Raleigh to Hickory/Newton and am looking to get more involved in some 2/3 gun competitions and back into shooting in general. Also hoping that I can get back into trout fishing and hunting since I'll be closer to the mountains.

If anyone has any leads on houses in the Newton/Mountain View area let me know!

Looking forward to meeting some of you guys out in the Western part of that state!

My homie is a realtor in Hickory. I’ll reach out to him if you’d like. VOD isn’t far for 2/3 gun comps!

I already have a realtor, but if you want to reach out to see if anything is coming on the market soon I would appreciate that!

I have seen the VOD tactical matches on here, I'll have to look into that!

Welcome to the neighborhood. My daughter is in Chapel Hill, but misses the slower pace up here in the mountains, Caldwell County for us. I'm a member of Catawba Valley Rifle & Pistol Club, look em up for some local shoots. Great club located in Conover.

I live around the Hickory area as well. I’m also a member of CVR&P range. And I trout fish. Used to more than I do now. Best trout fishing is in Eastern Tennessee near Johnson City. South Holsten and the Watauga are some excellent fishing sites!

Welcome to the forum.

As @Hammer12b said those are two of the most famous fly-fishing rivers in the Southeast. Theirs also some really good small stream fishing in that area.

Sounds like a good move. I'm dying to get outta WakeCo. I need some acreage.
 
The wife and I are moving into a house in Mountain View in late November. Anyone else in that area?
