I'm wondering if anyone has a spare safety detent spring for a remington 1100 laying around. Failing that, can anybody point me at a hardware store available replacement?

Mine wandered off to wherever happy springs go when you're working on a gun.

Thanks!

4.50 plus 6 to ship from Remington. I was hoping to catch someone local that keeps spare parts so I wouldn't have to eat that shipping cost.

Remington was only able to tell me "slightly over 1/4 inch long". I know for diameter it's slightly larger than an AR15 takedown detent spring. It's coiled much looser than that also.

Currently, I have a cut down ar detent spring in there. That's just holding a place since it's so tightly coiled. I had to clip it until it sat below the retaining pin so the safety functions.

Not a lot of help, I realize.

Don't know where you are???
I have several that might work... Also, buy a Bic lighter and see if the spring under the flint might work....should be about the right size...

I'm in Winston Salem. I have a dead bic in the car. I'll try that out and see if it's a better fit than what I have until I have a parts order worth shipping cost.

Thanks!

I'm going to be in Salisbury Saturday.

If it doesn't work out let me know and I'll bring my assortment. I'll probably be at the club Sat. Wanna shoot something??

If Bailey Boat doesn't have it I might. Have to rummage around a bit to see.
