Removing 590 forend

just pick up a new 590, I'm trying to put the magpul forend on with the tool they provide. But the cap won't budge. Any advice?

Oil it

Sometimes pressing down on the barrel with the butt on the floor will take enough tension off of it to remove the magazine tube cap. Please make sure it is unloaded first.

Has to do this to get mine off. Good advise. Especially the unloaded part.
