I have a Savage MK II with a Simons scope. It is dead on at whatever range (within 150 yards) I have it zeroed. Tried to shoot out to 200 and 300 yards (100 zero). Ran out of adjustment before I could hit the steel at 200. I bought a 20 MOA rail that was a disaster when I put it on. Could not get it on the paper at 75 yards.

What scope would you put on a 22 bolt action rifle to shoot out to 300 yards without breaking the bank. I do not mine putting the 20 MOA rail back on the gun. I would like external knob on the adjustments like on the Nikon P-223.

I believe the SWFA Super Sniper has over 100MOA of elevation. That would get you to 300 yards without a 20MOA base
Super Snipers are good scopes for the money. The cheaper ones are fixed power. They start going up in price if you want variable power

I currently run a Vortex Diamondback Tactical on my CZ455 over a 25 MOA rail, and I can dial to 300 easily and holdover on the reticle to well past 400 with standard velocity ammo. Mine has right at 47 MOA dial up from a 50 yard zero. I really like the scope so far. It is first focal plane with an EBR-2C reticle and tactical turrets for about $399 retail.

I shoot 300 yards with a CZ 455 with 25 moa rail and Athlon Talos BTR 4-14×44 mil. and standard velocity ammo. The Athlon Talos is very clear and spot on with retical adjustments and they are very reasonable in price. Harold Pressley is a member of this group and can get you a great deal on a great scope.
