Don't ban me for saying this, but maybe--just maybe--the FBI was one of the good guys this time.

Three alleged members of a white supremacist group were plotting to murder demonstrators at Monday’s gun rights rally at the Virginia Capitol before they were arrested by the FBI last week, according to court documents.
...
According to authorities, the 27-year-old former Canadian Armed Forces reservist also discussed creating “instability” in Virginia by killing people, derailing trains, poisoning water, and shutting down highways in order to “kick off the economic collapse” and possibly start a “full blown civil war.”

Why would you get banned?

white supremacists are up there with Nazis and Muslims. Very few people that would be sad to see them go, even if most of them are “peaceful”. Any individual or group whose entire existence is predicated on the eradication of others is, well, unfit for society. Bye bye. Thank you FBI. Shoot them next tine save tax payers some money.

Im sure there were a lot more left wing kooks that had their sights set on "gun rights activists" in Richmond. But this isnt the typical group they figured they needed to mess with.

White Nationalists Arrested ahead of Richmond Rally Planned to Kill Gun-Rights Demonstrators to Spark Civil War

That may be right and may have happened just as the article suggested, but...

I’m looking at another possible angle, as well. Most media outlets have egg on their faces because the rally did not go as they reported it would.

Most of them reported the event as pretty much a “white-supremacist” rally, compared it to Charlottesville and hammered that point every chance they had; didn’t go down like that, though. Social media was filled with several examples of folks from different races, genders and lifestyles, all united in a common cause.

Well, to save face, now they’re going to report these dudes were intent on causing a disruption...”See...we told you white supremacists/KKK were planning to be there and cause trouble.”

No, you dishonest, filthy liars...in the days leading up to the event, you pretty much assumed that everyone attending was part of a white-supremacist group and that’s exactly how you reported it.

I hate the media.

Actually, from their point of view, that seems like a pretty smart plan. I suspect that if they started whacking 2A supporters the fit might really have hit the shan. Throw in a dead "progressive" or three with the firearms that did the deeds and they could have set the pot a boil. Why do I suspect that a CI was involved in taking them down?

Actually, from their point of view, this might have been a really smart move. Whack several 2A supporters and dredge up some dead "progressives-read militants/socialists/communists" and leave the firearms used with them and you very well could've set the pot a boil. What makes me think that a CI might have been involved in taking them down?

I like the double emphasis. :D

Actually, I think they were infiltrated. Could be Lobby Day pushed up the schedule on what might have been an ongoing surveillance.
If they were going to kill innocent 2A supporters, then they're dead to me as ever being an ally.

What a great win-win story for the FBI and nobody has any sympathy for the nuts who were arrested.
  • If something went wrong in Richmond, the FBI could claim being on the ball and stopping at least some of the problem.
  • If nothing went wrong in Richmond, the FBI could claim being on the ball and preventing things from happening.

Loved this comment by a black woman... :D

Hands down the WORST white supremacist rally I’ve ever seen! I mean they let me speak and everything. People shaking my hands and stuff. What would MLK do if he saw all of these people judging me by the content of my character instead of the color of my skin?

The real shame is that we let them bastardize legitimate descriptions of who we are.

White - I happen to be mostly white
Nationalist - one devoted to supporting and defending one's country; national loyalty; patriot - Sounds like me, I don't support any country over my own.
Militia - a body of citizen soldiers as distinguished from professional soldiers. - We are the militia

I would say that Richmond was packed full of white nationalist militia type people...that doesn't mean a significant number of them, if any, were racist white supremacist terrorists as the media has twisted it to mean.

And they inadvertently pointed out how small and insignificant those groups are. 3. 3? Out of 30K? If you run into a couple maybe you have a problem. If you go to prison you have a problem. But on a national scale, I don't think the even register as a legit problem.

They were members of the Base, which is international. That's where the problem is.

THe FBI had plenty of information to make an arrest WAYYYYYY before now, i'd bet. I mean thay had survellance in their homes. That didnt come easy. But it was convienient to attach it to an actionable move like the Lobby Day. If they thought they were the real deal, it would have went down before now....They were waiting for them to give up the big fish. These clowns were small potatoes (albeit still dangerous, admittedly).

Exactly. Planned action on Lobby Day pushed the FBI to act. They had to forfeit some of their ground to bring those guys down. The Base is undoubtedly re-vetting their membership and closing ranks.
