They had the scene with breaking a thrown beer bottle against the chicken wire cage.

They have the bad guy that's not so malicious(like the fat bruiser in the original that swayze got along with at the end).

They got Jake gyllenhall for acting gravitas.

They got Connor macgregor chewing the scenery.

If they would call them an homage to the original, it would be better. But yeah, trailer looked ok to me.
 
I didn't see a broken down Sam Elliot mentor like dude in the trailer.

It looks interesting but I won't go into watching it thinking its a remake of Roadhouse. Maybe think of it as Roadhouse Fla Keys edition.

I just saw this long commercial on YouTube, I may watch this one, looks like a ton of good fight scenes. I’m too young for the original but I’m familiar with it.
 
Meh, I’ll probably check it out but no way it tops the original. They dont make em like they used too applies to everything nowadays.

As echoed by others...they probably remade this just so they could add in "the message".
What is the point of remaking this movie? It was a stand alone 80's classic.

Gyllenhaal is not an adequate replacement for Swayze.

McGregor was basically a comic book character baddie. Gyllenhaal tried to be funny at all the wrong moments. The fight scene with the bikers and trying to find the closest hospital was goofy and the "This piano is out of tune" line during the McGregor fight was quite possibly the worst line I've heard in a movie.

Let’s be honest the original was nothing more than good entertainment. Certainly wasn’t an award winning cinematic masterpiece.
My wife and I were just talking about watching the new one

It’s not bad. Except Mcgregor. It’s also not great.

We watched it last night. Just go with it, it's almost like a comic book. It is not a serious movie, but i thought it was funny. Connor was playing a character and for a dude with no acting experience, it was fine. He isn't playing himself, he is playing a hugely over-exaggerated character of himself.
