Road Rage in New Mexico INSANE

Life in New Mexico! I'm surprised he even got three years.

He was a cop wanna be. Had lights or sirens on his car. They say he was also ex-military. I'm surprised he survived the military with that attitude.

He wanted to send his video to LivePD! but they were not interested.

Ugh. The victims in this video are his kids. The guy in the truck had every right to put it in reverse and slam into his car. The douche pointed a gun at the guy in the truck and when the truck driver attempted to escape the situation, this idiot chased him. I'd back up and slam into him as well if he kept chasing me and I knew he was armed.

Who the crap drives a car on the street with a suicide knob attached to the steering wheel? Maybe I'm out of touch or something but I thought those were for forklifts and such not street vehicles.

What a moron. Thank god nobody in the homes across the street got hit by this idiots stray bullets. Bad publicity for gun owners. Very bad.

They’re nice to have when driving a bus with a large steering wheel. :)

OK...which one of you has been visiting New Mexico!? We know that @Geezer has been in Texas but I don't think he has young kidso_O, sooo fuss up people! :D

It about killed me when the kid was crying out to just go home.

That dude has some serious mental deficiency. I suspect he won't do well in prison.

Does anyone have a link to the actual case?

Not much of a story but this is all I could find with a quick search

Officials say Hoffert also flashed sirens on his vehicle. ;)

Should some idiot point a gun at me in my vehicle, I'm getting outta there fast,
not going to backup and make it easier for him to shoot me.

Well that's true. I didn't think about buses, firetrucks, and other vehicles with large steering wheels. When watching the video, I'm not sure but I think I heard him yell out "Shots fired" right after he wildly shot at the truck. It sounds like this guy is a few cans short of a six pack.

They’re actually illegal on passenger vehicles in many states without exceptional permission such as being handicapped. I know this because my cousin is handicapped, has one, and runs a disabilities advocacy group.

I saw this video the day it was posted, almost couldn’t believe what I was watching, especially with the kids in the car. This guy is a major liability.

3 years is a gift.

I feel so bad for those children. That will be an event they will never forget and one that could stay with them for life.

I wonder if person in front knew he had kid in car?

What if someone didn't feel they could get away and were tempted to back into him and then step out and dump a magazine through his windshield?

This guy is lucky he didn't run into someone like that Jack guy.

The guy only got 3 yrs (and he'll be out well before that I'm sure) because he was only convicted of "shooting from a car, child abuse, and misuse of emergency equipment".

No assault, attempted murder, or any other violent crime indictment. This stuff happens ALL the time in New Mexico. The crime there is staggering and the courts just turn people back out on the street as soon as possible.

It's a beautiful state, with an enormous crime, drug, poverty, gang problem.
