The new rock island 3/10 I picked up a few weeks ago with my 938 for scale.
This is a really small ten round 1911.
I can only get two fingers on the grip, but I have large hands so it's not hard for me to get a reasonably comfortable grip,
The gun is heavy, plus the gun is ported so recoil isn't terrible
Only got a chance to put 30 rounds through it so far, but accuracy was good, need to paint the front sight so I can see it better and take it out again,
My brother who ran ten of the thirty rounds through it, and has small hands said it was a definite no for him.
Im going to do some more reliability and accuracy testing to decide if it gets a turn in the carry rotation.

What is the trigger pull like?
Little over 5 pounds, heavier than I usually like, but crisp and clean so I can live with it till I make a decision on whether it goes in the safe or gets carried.

I notice the P938 has the pinky finger extended magazine. I'm thinking you're going to need to match that on the new Rock Island. I have much better control with that extra finger on the gun so I don't have any of the 6 round short mags for my P938. It still conceals just fine.
Regardless, neat new gun. I haven't seen one of those yet and it's quite attractive.

I dont think the P938 trigger is 5lbs either, as I recall. Or maybe that was the P238.

I don't know about your experience, but mine is less than five pounds. I can put it to the scale if you want to know.

I’ve not owned one. I just used to read about them in the forums. A quick search on sigtalk shows anywhere from 7.5-8.5 and another post had it north of 12 on some posts from several years back. Galloway Precision used to make a kit just to get it down to 5.5

I'm going to get out the trigger scale now.

Let me know how it goes as I have been looking at these.

You got a good ‘un! They may have changed the specs on those in more recent production
Mine was made in 2015. I am the second owner. The first owner was a female competitive shooter and trainer who shot the snot out of it. That might have something to do with it.

<< Interested to see how it runs!
I plan to get it to the range in the next couple of weeks. I'll update the thread when I do

The grip is small but the aggressive checkering helps.
The first ria Ive seen that came from the factory with checkering.
I wish they'd add this feature to all their
guns

Just wanted to revive this thread for a moment, finally made it to the range with the 3/10. IMG_20200605_144445458.jpg
This is the first group out of the 3/10 at the range today from the 20 yard line slow aimed fire( But I'd already run 50 rounds through a revolver).
Recoil is close to the 38 I ran today,
The trigger sux no it's ands or buts.
The more tired I became, the more the groups opened up.
ran 50 rounds through it and it was a struggle to be accurate with the crappy trigger pull .
Moved the target back to the 30 yard line to try head shots something that I can do easily with most of my other 1911s. Not this one two much time fighting the trigger

This goes in the safe till I can get a trigger job done .
Then I'll take it back to the range.
I think this gun has potential but not right out of the box like my other rock islands
