Round round git around...

Freaking California

I cannot for the life of me understand why anyone would live in that sh*t hole state. It shouldn't matter if it's your job or your family, leave!! You can find another job and if your family is stupid enough to stay then they must like it and be willing to endure that crap.
Wait until they levy a "tax" on a per round basis to support enforcement of this stupid law and others like it... They'll have the numbers!!

What are they going to do about components?
Dillon/Lee/Hornady/RCBS should be advertising.

UPS & Fudd-Ex still deliver, if needed place and order and have it shipped to bud, they turn & ship it to you.

Itā€™ll be like the lottery was before, people drove to VA to throw their money away weekly.

Because itā€™s a really great place in terms of weather, topography, natural features, etc. Itā€™s a shame that itā€™s been taken as the Liberal high ground. Maybe Iā€™d be taking the family there next summer for a trip instead of somewhere else if it werenā€™t so insanely loopy with little to nothing to show for it. If they could point to a utopian societyā€”hell, Iā€™ll give a near-utopianā€”with all their ā€œcontrolā€ measures, Iā€™d might be impressed. But my money says you canā€™t tell any difference between it and anywhere else...except maybe the inability to buy straws or something.

I am curious as to how this will accomplish their goal of preventing violence?
What a silly question. Isnā€™t it obvious?

As soon as ammo purchasing requires a background check, all the criminals and crazies will move out of state. ;)

They blocked that already, all ammo must go to an FFL as of sometime this year.

I'm sure they'll do the same with components as soon as someone figures out they 'missed' that and people are making ghost ammo in their homes.

that's not the point. by making it harder to even use your guns it will keep the 'casuals' from shooting. ranges will close, shops will go out of business and the 'gun culture' will die off. it's not a ban, but if there is no where to buy and no where to shoot, how would anyone new become pro-2A?

over time it will likely reduce suicide by gun (and increase suicide by bridge jumping or train hugging but those generate their own new laws and taxes) which will be seen as a win by those that track such things.

Reloaders are less then 10% on gun owners. It's such a small amount at this time, they don't care.

It's coming. There will be a time when they can't find ammo for their blaster.

They'll be forced to learn to reload.

All I need is a .22 cal mold and I'll be able to cast for any thing I own. Reload for all of them.

Any even fewer of the 10% cast their own bullets. I'm a long time reloader and have never ventured into the realm of casting.

When you can't get bullets then what are we going to do?

I got tired of asking my local gun shop to order cast bullets, he never would. I bought a guys cast equipment and never looked back.

Look back at the woodsman of yester year. Top prize at a shoot was the log used as the target. Reason why? It had all the lead in it. They cast their own bullets.

I cast for 9mm, .380, .40, .45, .357/38, and .30cal rifle. In a pinch you can use pistol powders for some loads in the .30cal. Trail boss will work in all of these. You can tailor loads for specific uses. You can download these so a 80 year old woman could shoot them.

Casting opens a whole new realm to reloading.

I might get into the stuff to cast if the antigun bullshit laws keep going. But, right now I can get all the bullets I need mail order, my time at this point is better spend reloading and shooting.

You can whisper in my ear and blow smoke up my butt all day, I don't have a single use for CA or anyone/anything there...

Keep making empty promises like that and Iā€™ll never let you let me ride in your truck again.

Awe c'mon folks ..ya'll are missing the big picture here. After all, it IS sunny Kalifonia...
You can make a fun day out of this in persuit of these great ammo bargains....
Take the family ( and your running shoes) and make a game out of it... ( call it the Gauntlet) Jogging and jinking through that tent-city metropolis of syringe-strewn streets, hurdling over tweakers , winos, piles of vomit , garbage , and human excrement all while avoiding being mugged by thugs and bangers......!!!

Yup. I try really hard to buy double what I plan on shooting in a given time. I have more to load if I shoot more and I have a surplus if I donā€™t. Rinse and repeat, I have components for quite some time saved up

Similar thing about to happen in my old state of NJ. They already require a FPID (Firearms Purchaser ID) to buy any ammo that can be used in a handgun, and all such sales are logged. In order to get a FPID you must pass a background check. Now the governor wants a new law that requires an additional background check at the time of purchase for any ammo, plus reporting of all ammo sales to the NJ State Police.

Why don't I think this will have any effect on the gangbangers in Trenton/Camden/Newark ...

Just wait til they do this in Colorado, Oregon, Washington State, Vermont and NH.

I remember when I would order ammo and there would be a handful of states that couldn't mail order several things mags, etc. Now there's a long list of states where it's no bueno to order just about anything gun related.

Pathetic state of affairs.

Ok, surely someone somewhere has done a historical data analysis to show whether or not this process would have stopped any previous criminal activity. In other words, has this been in place 5yrs ago, how much would it have actually reduced crime?
Arguably, many shooters were not criminals before their acts, therefore would not have been caught in this screening process. I think of the securities disclaimer:

Previous results do not necessarily indicate future performance.
