Edit:
As to not start a new thread, need recommendations on ammo that shoots well and a Ruger LCP 2. Anyone have a LCP 2? What shoots best in yours?

Ruger firearms may not be what they once was but their customer service is fast. I bought a Ruger LCP 2 from a fellow forum member. It had known FTE/FTF problems. I thought I’d give it a go and took it out shooting last weekend. I loaded up five 6 round mags with Winchester White box and LAX flat nose ammo. 2 out 6 rounds in each mag was a FTE and it would not lock back on an empty mag. So I called Ruger on Monday morning. They sent me a shipping label. I boxed it up and shipped it that afternoon. Got an email on Tuesday saying they received the firearm and it would take 2-3 weeks. Received another email on Wednesday saying the work has been done and they shipped it out that day. I received it today. They replaced the slide assembly and barrel. Loaded up the 5 mags and walked out back. One FTF on the last mag with the Winchester. Slide stayed open on all empty mags. Hopefully I’ll get to go shoot it some more in the next couple weeks. One thing I noticed was that when the slide locked open, the slide stop was barely catching. Weak magazine spring? Would that cause my FTF issue? I’m going to run some more rounds through it with different ammo. We shall see.

But that was pretty good turnaround. And a +1 for FedEx. They didn’t lose my gun and the box was intact. 😳

I’d try different ammo as well. I’m not a fan of Winchester handgun ammo. Since I load mine, I don’t have a lot of experience with different brands but through the years, I’ve probably seen more problems using Winchester than other brands

I don’t have much Winchester so no worries there. Mostly just LAX but since I had it I thought I’d try it also.

I've always had good service from Ruger. They've corrected issues on guns for free that I bought 2nd hand and were way past any expected warranty time.

I've got a sticking cylinder on my gp100. If they actually send you a box to ship to them, I might just try contacting them. I figured I'd have to pay though. I've had the gun for 10 years.

No box just an emailed label. You can get a box from anywhere. Just package it good. They recommend a box inside a box.
