Thinking of getting a pcc looking at the Ruger pcc so what’s the good or bad with them. Probably going to do some competition matches with them. Get one and modify it or just build one from scratch?
You remind me of the only issue I forgot about. The stock bolt hold… slap the stock and it will release and close. I called Ruger on it and they said it was normal. And you have to keep it open for the take down, so it might chamber a round if you aren’t paying attention.Really like mine. Bought it used from a forum member. It came with a flash hider. I added a streamlight and TC fiber optic front and rear sights. The only issue I've had is the bolt handle loosens up after about 100 rounds and when it is taken apart for cleaning various pins fall out of the trigger group and bolt. Be careful when you do so not to lose the small bits.
Thanks. I came across him on another forum and started looking at his stuff. I thinking ar style now.If I was acquiring one just for competition, I'd build one on an AR platform even just for the mag release and safety positions. However, the Ruger has been extremely reliable.
If you prefer to build on an AR platform instead here is a good resource:
He also has a youtube channel that goes into some of his testing.
I love mine (in spite of all the experts' opinions about PCCs). Red dot zeroed to 50yds, and an MCARBO full enhancement kit (replaces the plastic wear parts). I think the mods are worth the money, especially if you're going to run it hard, but ymmv.Thinking of getting a pcc looking at the Ruger pcc so what’s the good or bad with them.
