Safe lights?

I picked up a couple under-cabinet lights like you’d put in a kitchen and wired them together. Also have an 10” slim LED light mounted to the underside of the shelf that’s cut for the long guns.

That safe is disturbingly organized.....

Permission to be lazy, please, sir... got links?

I have a motion activated led strip in one safe, and it works well. In the other safe, the strip doesn't adhere well, and it broke in half. :(
Links and the installation is in this vid, you can choose strips that are brighter/dimmer.

Thanks, @Jeppo, I've been reading this thread... would like to know what @BigWaylon settled on.
I settled on what I posted earlier in this thread, as far as lights and power go. I really wanted the IR sensor to work, and would use one if I had permanent power. But it wouldn’t allow the battery to last even two weeks. So now I just flip the switch on the battery pack as needed. Usually overhead light is plenty, but I definitely use the safe lights when needed.

I did leave the motion detector attached, so if I walk away for a bit with them on, the lights do turn off. But I can’t leave the switch on and expect to have power when I need it.

Same here

I finally got around to this project. About the best $24 I ever remember spending (almost as good as the $20 CFF annual Supporting Membership). Without reading through this thread, I ordered a kit from Amazon (I know some are having trouble with their deliveries. I am not). It seems it’s same kit as @BigWaylon used, but for AC.

Somehow, I was able to make the tape stick to the safe’s fabric (for how long????). And, another miracle was that the strip was exactly the proper length to cover everything without cutting, splicing or overlapping. Since it uses line voltage, I don’t expect issues from the IR sensor. What a pleasure!!!

I used these self stick cable tie mounts with a small screw in the center, used a tiny cable tie to hold the led strips in place.

For an easy/short-term fix (that might be enough to just keep, or repurpose), what about these?

Dual Cob LED Night Light With Switch - ULTRA BRIGHT - New LED Technology - Super Bright LED Lights - Project Light - Night Light - 400 Lumens (White 4 Pack) Amazon product ASIN B073327N5Q
Those have four light strips, but there are other options with just two...which would also be plenty. I've seen these at Walmart, and probably available at most big box stores.

•Battery powered, so no wires to run.
•Magnetic and stick-in mounting options included.
•Integrated switch, so no remote to keep up with.
•Downside would be you'd have to turn each one on individually, but that may also be a benefit for battery life if you only need a certain area lit up.

For cheap and very easy solution these work well. Can be picked up at harbor freight as well.

Just installed another set of these. Still $24 and still a wonderful product.

I got a cheap AA powered "mechanic" light with the magnet on back. It's stuck to the inside top of safe when I open the door I just reach up and click it on. Do what I need to do and click it off. Easy peasy and did I mention cheap.

LED upgrade….sure beats the fluorescents…

I like the light. You also have the neatest gun safe I have ever seen. Mine is a little bit crowded.

Have you noticed any problems mounting the GoldenRod in the back next to the rifles? The reason I ask is that I bought another one to replace my old and was thinking about doing the same thing except not sure how that would work out since most of my rifles are wood stocks and am thinking it may be to close to the wood. I am trying to free ups space towards front. My safe is crowded and not much room left to work with.

Should be fine, so long as there is no direct contact.

My interior is heavily modified. It wasn’t very user friendly at the outset and the way it sits now is about the 3rd iteration. The recess I cut on the interior of the door is probably the best mod I’ve done to it.
