We shot in a small competition this weekend. Had a great time. @Catfish was shooting a smoothbore like a precision rifle and nailing targets left and right. @Theodore Maynard nailed a bunch with his Maynard and ran the mess for lunch. This ain't a reenactment, we shoot live ammunition. Good times with good friends....

You all are OLD. Ah, never mind, I just looked in a mirror.
Hey, I resemble that remark!
But to that point, kids are not being exposed to the 2A and how it has played a huge part in our history. The world hasn't always been black rifles and glocks. Even the 1911 is only a bit over 40 years after the arms we play with.

Most units in the N-SSA just bring a "popup" for shade. We've decided to up that ante with a HQ type of marquee tent and some period stuff. We're not reenactors so modern stuff is laying around.

This is the "back porch" annex where we were assembling target arrays. This array is a modified version our signature "pigeon board". For scoring, shoot only the pigeons. Any hit tiles are a penalty and BTW, you're shooting a Civil War musket offhand at 50yd with the clock running.

And most of the guys we had present for duty (and huge fun!)

That was a lot of fun. Gawd I look old in that photo. Who is that geezer with the Hostile Resting Face?

Do you mean the distinguished, seated gentleman contemplating the destruction of entire divisions of pigeons?? šŸ˜šŸ˜†
