Anyone know much about these little semi-auto's? I've watched a few reviews and they all have been good. I want to get a .17 it is honestly the only gun I have always regret letting go. I have had several and I have enjoyed the savage with the accutrigger. But what other stock rifles have great triggers?

I used to own one. Fantastic shooter. Only sold it to consolidate my calibers.

It loved pretty much anything I fed it except for Winchesters high velocity load with the 15.5 grain bullet which would short stroke the bolt. Not enough recoil energy to overcome the lever delay and the recoil spring fully.

Every 17 grain and 20 grain bullet topped load ran 100% out the box. Before I sold it I had sampled every single ammo offering on the market at the time.

I did notice there's only like 4 projectiles available and across ammo brands the velocity would pretty much be the same if the same projectile was used.

I have a CZ 455 in 17 hmr... It's not semi-auto but it is a great rifle. Trigger is wonderful and shoots great. Plus, if you get a 22lr barrel you can have 2 calibers in the same gun which is nice if you are space limited.

I think they've discontinued the 455s and are now on the 457s. Either way they are easy to find and not that expensive IMO for what you get.

I have both a Ruger American Rimfire in .22lr and a CZ 457 in .22lr. While the Ruger is a great gun and my wife can shoot the heck out of that thing. The CZ is more accurate and consistent with printing small groups. I know there may be a difference with .17HMR but I think the CZ is the way to go.

yeah there is a used American with nikon scope for 399 on a website. I'm sure it would be sufficient but haven't heard much about them.
