Have people on Armslist (at least in SC) lost their damn minds?

Most guns are priced way, way over retail. Others like a guy wanting to trade his SA XDM 10mm compact for a FN Scar 17 or X95 Tavor????

Most (a lot at least) of the ads are for Staccatos and SA Prodigys? Did these guns just suck right off the bat? So many people trying to unload them all at once.

No one has any cash everyone seems to want to offer some sort of worthless trade for my NIB firearms.

I guess Armslist is just DEAD.

As soon as it was pay to play it took a big dive, but not being able to even see the price without being a paying member among other things killed it. It used to be a good marketplace, there is a big gap in the NC/SC market for this type of listing service. Even if you charged just $1 per listing, it would do well. Other states have their own alternatives, like texasguntrader.com and the like.

Our classifieds here do pretty well and I have met some neat people and paid very fair prices. Some people just feel the need to get the 'better' end of the deal and forget that unless a gun is rare or actually collectible, then it only depreciates in value over time and with use.

I have also seen a lot of people doing something similar with real estate. No actual intention of selling, just putting out a crazy number and if someone happens to be gullible/desperate enough then they will let it go. Near me there is a little 8 or 9 acre tract that is asking $10,000 for nothing but woods and a trash filled barn that needs torn down. No well, no septic, no roads, no livable structures. Same with guns. I see some people being gravely offended at people not paying $500 more for an M1 Garand that was clearly bought from the CMP as a rack grade gun.

I've been saying the same thing about Armslist for quite awhile. I think people purchased high either during Covid when they thought the world was coming to an end or when the Democrats took back over the white house. Either way you can't get retail prices for a used gun!

I see all the insane prices on Armslist , lately been looking just for the goof . But hate to be that guy I have made some great purchases over the last year.#1 A Glock 19 gen 4 with trijicon sights $450 guy fell on hard times gave me the orig reciept he bought 2 weeks before . # 2 a Saginaw M1 carbine with a broken front sight and a cracked stock, $400, replaced the sight and got a mint stock. About $150 investment . And last but not least a mint Ruger super Blackhawk in 44 mag for $450. Right place right time.

In my opinion Armslist is much better since they started charging. It got rid of 99% of the scammers. Personally I’ve made some great deals there, both buying and selling.

Nc armslist has honestly blessed Me and I've seen some amazing deals, 5600 rounds of 7.62x39 with a wsar10 for 2.2k also a cmmg banshee mk4 for 750 dollars with ammo and decent attachments. I've gotten my self a psa akp with 2000 rounds for 1k.
