Back when I worked in a facility where we trained bears, oc spray worked pretty good on most bears. But it was not a magic wand. A few bears it didn’t phase too much and the empty can had to be used to get there attention. So if you encounter a bear apply liberally. If the game warden requires paper work afterwards, it’s one short burst of oc spray to the facial area.
