This would be a perfect time for them to do something about it. Lets start with eliminating this silly business about schools being places where carry is prohibited. This incident once again proves that which we already know: that the aggressors stop when they are forcibly confronted. A lot of damage can happen in the time it takes for the best response of dial a prayer and let's not even think about when the response goes wrong.

I have seen this, I have seen that she killed herself. I have also read that she was 17, and she was 28. Not being critical; I think at the speed information is flowing there's just misinformation.

The spokes person for police said 17 first information hearing so they probably didn't know.
 
Something definitely funny about this timeline. Three guns, you would expect that she intended to dump a lot of rounds very quickly. She shot 6 people in 14 minutes time, and that includes those shots fired as police were entering the building. That's an awful long time to stand around yammering in an elementary school, unless the school was incredibly well prepared and had physical barriers in place to address an active shooter scenario.

Yeah, ultimately it's really not germane to the story; although i could see where motives in a 17 YO is a bit different than motives in a 28 YO. Just the speed of info flowing in an instant news world.
 
Our republican leaders need to do a full court press on outlawing gun fee zones in schools. A gun free zone is a filter that ensures the only people with guns that will enter are lawbreakers and/or people with bad intent, unless physical measures are taken to ensure NO guns enter like at airports, etc. and that is rarely the case. Sometimes I think the government wants these school shootings to happen so they can use them to push more gun control which only affects law abiding gun owners.

Indiscriminate mass shootings almost always happen in gun free zones. Gun free zones are free kill zones for the mentally disturbed and are inherently areas of increased danger, so lets put our kids in them! Worst idea ever.

I'd like for the Democrats to do something about it - we don't have a gun problem, we have a culture problem, and they exacerbated it. From another thread:

Even then, at some point you are going to leave the green zone, and it doesn't matter how big you make it.

Nothing learned after the Uvalde murders not to have access to side doors from the outside.

That's not bad when you consider they probably took 10 minutes just to figure out if they would send the police or a counselor.

First report was second floor now it was a lobby. C&B show reports video is available to investigate what happened.
 
So after the Nashville shooting today within 3 hours they hold a press conference. Afterwards a woman somehow manages to get to the microphone unimpeded and give a speech. Her son survived a school shooting in IL and she has spoken to 100 something legislators about assault weapon bans. She just happened to be vacationing in Nashville and make it to the press conference within a few hours. And knew where to find it. And got to the microphone to give her speech. We are living in the Truman Show.
