I purchased this from a fellow forum member, minus the red stuff, so I could upgrade the wife's SP01.
Just finished installing the CGW trigger parts I ordered and am happy to report that the SA trigger pull is now a crisp 2 lb 13 oz and the DA trigger measures 6.6 lbs.

This is with the 11.5# hammer spring installed.... I have the 8.5# waiting in the wings...:)

Just sharing a little CZ love....

Very nice Shadow 2 - out of the box one of the best guns available if you can get used to the weight. I love mine and would like to send the slide away to be milled for a red dot.
I haven’t done anything to the trigger

I sent mine to CGW and they really set it up nicely. With the 10X bushing even I can hit clay pigeons on a berm at 50 yards.

They are excellent guns right out if the box but with the CGW parts they really shine. The reset and the smoothness of the DA are the biggest improvements IMHO.

With the 8.5 spring you might get light primer stroked depending on the Ammo you are using but it’s worth a try.

I have an 8.5# spring in my modified SP01....I reload and only use Federal primers so I have not had any issues so far...but you are 100% correct...it won't work with harder primers like CCI..

Just dropped in the 8.5# CGW hammer spring....SA is now a crisp 2lb 9 oz it might drop a little after it breaks in more....still...no too bad. :)

This is how mine came back to me. It ignites everything! After about 300 rounds it is closer to 2lb 10oz.

The bad part about it is that a trigger this nice will ruin you for other guns.

I spoke to Dave yesterday on a CZ 97 upgrade I am doing and he informed me that the DA trigger measurement should be taken from half cock...not what I was doing, so he said that will make the measurement even lighter..good to know.

You don't know how true that is....Even the stock Shadow 2 which is waaaaay better than a stock SP01 or a CZ 75B was inadequate compared to a gun with the CGW or CZ Custom upgraded trigger....But speaking just for myself....I think it is worth ever penny spent....

I put 40k this year through my S2's that I put all the upgrades in. I just got a new M&P 2.0 compact and installed the full Apex kit in. With the Apex kit...the M&P was so bad compared to the S2, I thought the trigger was broke.
I'm ruined.

These hold up pretty well against the S2. 😘

Nice guns, but the SA's aren't allowed in production division. Only the Beretta would be allowed in Production division, which is what Stark uses it for. The S2 is still a better choice, imo. Due to mag capacity, etc. It's designed for production div competition.

Maybe I missed it but I did not see any mention of production division in any posts. If it is a requirement then I would run the LTT full-size version. Trigger will be the same as the compact. Capacity will match the S2 IIRC. I own and S2 it’s about as slicked out as it can be. Pretty much everything that CGWs has to offer minus an optic cut. I’m not saying it’s not a good gun I’m saying that there are other guns out there that are just as good. When you get to a certain level it is really about ergonomics and how the gun interfaces with the shooter and how good the shooter is and less about the minor differences between $1000+ pistols. IMHO YMMV

Just pointing out what Starkherts uses the gun for, as his was the post you quoted. None of the ones you posted could replace it, so kinda irrelevant if they have better triggers. None of those guns are "just as good" for his particular use. All Single Stack, Limited, and Open guns are going to have better triggers. Apples and oranges.

Beretta 92 series are DA/SA guns..... Just pointing that out.... :)

Nobody, including me, ever implied, stated, said, or imagined they are not DA/SA. You posted 5 guns, 4 being SA only, and one da/sa which appears to be a compact carry gun.

Do you think the Beretta you posted would be "just as good" for production division in USPSA? Do you shoot production?

Who pissed in your Wheaties this morning? How the f88K would I know he only owns and shoots production division guns? Look at his statement.

Did I miss something. There were no caveats to the statement. Your addition changes the context but it really isn't relevant to the statement he made. Look at is again. No mention of the intended use of the gun only a comment about triggers. I love the CZ S2 but it does not ruin other guns for me. The reality is in terms of trigger I prefer shooting all of the guns I posted as much or more than the S2. Again the S2 is a great gun but it is nowhere near the end all be all of triggers. I am not sure why you are putting criteria on the statement and the response that were not present in the initial exchange. Anyway we agree CZ S2 with CGW action parts have very good triggers I just do not think they are the end of be all of triggers. I certainly have a lot of guns with better triggers. I will leave it at that.

@TJ45 Have you shot it with the 8.5lb hammer spring?

Uhhh, because his post that YOU QUOTED says he shot 40G rounds this year! That is the post you posted your guns in. What do you think he is doing with it? Plinking? He is training for competition in a specific division in uspsa. Who else would shoot 40G a year? I figured anybody would understand this, but I was wrong about that, lol.

I am trying to educate you. There is no anger here. This was meant to inform you in a conversational way. There is no piss or wheaties. It just seemed like you didn't know (because you clearly do not know), so I was trying to inform you. I am sorry if that makes you feel attacked. Apparently, you have a lot of guns so you know everything. My bad.

Also just to set the record straight the post I was replying to does not talk about any round count. I "quoted" the wrong one which most likely lead to some of the confusion. The one I meant to quote was his reply to the tag that CGW sent back with my S2. It is in a later post he mentions shooting 40K through his S2 which is impressive. Must have been fat fingered in my response.

Also ironically the pistol he is comparing the S2 to in that post is a compact striker fired gun which I pretty much destroys the idea that we were supposed to know he is talking about a specific USPSA division when he was talking about the S2 trigger. 🤣

Anyway I like CGWs CZs. I have 3 with their pro packages. They take a good gun and make it great. You have to spend a lot of money to get beyond the overall performance you get out of a CZ once it is tuned up. The issue I have with them is that their ergos don't always work for me. I need short triggers and I gave up long ago on the 97 because it just was too big for my hands and required me to alter my grip more than I wanted. Still one of the best non 1911 45 ACPs IMHO.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled program already in progress…LOL

I have not had the opportunity to take it to the range since I changed the spring...maybe this weekend.

I also have been working on making "MY" new Shadow 2 a SAO with a matching blue trigger and upgraded parts from CGW.

FYI...This is my SP01 that I am replacing that I modified back in 2017 when I had access to Cerakoting...
