What's your preference for Shield night sights?

I tend to prefer a tritium front sight with plain rear on short barrel guns but I could be talked into a complete set.

Ameriglo, these ones

Ameriglo spartan operator, very similar to the trijicon hd's.

I've heard several people talk about this and can't figure for the life of me how seeing one dot in the dark without a frame of reference does you any good?

I did this with my Kahr p-380 with one of the big dot sights and I'm ready for the rest of the set. It doesn't even work well in the light.

My wife's has standard sights on it but I added a CTC Laser Pro (red laser/white light) for her. Laser Pro also came with a holster.

Another nod to the Ameriglo I dot. I didn't think I'd like a U notch rear sight but for a defensive firearm I find it very fast. I have the yellowish green front sight.

I reckon that's why Baskin Robbins has 31 flavors. Different strokes and all.....

Unless I'm intentionally shooting for small groups at longish ranges, I rarely notice a rear sight when shooting, whether competition or training, day or night/low light. Grip, front sight, target, trigger press.

I don't understand why XS doesn't put a vial under the rear v. All the Shield gets is a painted white stripe which seems about useless in low light.

Another vote for the Ameriglo. Specifically, the Pro-i sights.

But, for the love of all that is holy, BUY THE SIGHT PUSHER TOOL. You'll thank me later when you don't have to buy three replacement sets due to messing them up during install in your garage with a hammer and punch!!! Trust me on this one. I'm the tightest of tightwads, and I learned the hard way.

Ameriglo also makes some of the best glo sticks I've ever used. I use red/orange ones for a tent light when camping. They last all night, easily.

I'm running the Trijicon HD's on mine with large orange front. Mostly black rear, but the tritium pops at night. If I was buying now I'd probably get their new thinner front sight.

Did mine with a hammer and bronze punch, went pretty easy.
Just make sure they slide 1/3 of the way or so in by hand, may have to file the sight bottom, then tap 'em home.
