Shooting at Carolina Place Mall

No charges YET. They a compiling every charge possible then run the gament on the shooter.

Currently they are intrigued by how the shooter was able to arm himself in a firearms free zone
 
I was going to post this yesterday about 15 minutes after it happened but all the info said was one dead somewhere on mall blvd or something like that.
 
The sketchy details provided so far suggest that lawful self defense is still on the table even though the media are treating it like a crime.

I was in the REI day before yesterday. It was not posted. I'll be interested to see if that's still the case next time.

I used to deliberately enter the mall through the REI store because it wasn't posted. Now, I just don't go at all. :rolleyes:

I really don't givadamn what they choose to sell or not sell in their store or why. That's their business and their right. When they post the store or start spending money actively working against 2A then I'll pay attention. Send me a link if you have one.
They had shoes the wife wanted, so we went to REI.

They dropped all Vista Outdoor products because they sell firearms and ammo along with a slew of other outdoor products. Also siting their donations to the NRA and PACs that support 2A candidates.

I didn't think you could get into the mall through REI, at least if this is the one in Charlotte.

I think you're right. Must be thinking of somewhere different. Been that long since I went to the (any) mall. Used to be we went all the time. Used to have money then too. :rolleyes:
 
I think the SBI is investigating not the FBI as reported in the story.
Perhaps he is a lawful owner so no arrest at this point of the investigation.
 
Don't feel safe at Carolina Place, you can always go to Tryon Mall for the true Mogadishu thrill

Tryon Mall has been closed for years, hasn't it? I'm thinking of the one that was at Sugar Creek and N Tryon. I saw Jaws at that theater in 1977! I didn't really like going over there then either!
 
I escaped from CLT over 20 years ago. Even in the 70s, Tryon Mall was not a great place, especially after they built Eastland.

Last time I went by Trying Mall, there were primarily ethnic types of dives there and sketchy looking people in the parking lot.
 
Malls generally suck. I don't like being in a free fire zone. I try to be near an exit whenever possible.

OTOH, I had to go to Concord Mills to do some shopping over the holidays and remembered one of the positives.

Wall to wall women working and shopping. The scenery makes waiting while Mrs. can't make up her mind tolerable for awhile anyway.
