The title seems weird but I'm curious about my shooting habits and I'm wondering if switching eyes is a bad thing.

I'm right handed but left eye dominate, so I do catch a little hell when trying to shoot a shotgun or a rifle with irons.

When sighting in a scope, I'm using my right (not dominant) eye since I'm usually shooting the rifle right handed.

I mentioned shooting habits which translate to, in some hunting scenarios I'll switch over to shoot left handed which has me using my left (dominate) eye.

Is this frowned upon and I really need to shoot how I sighted in, or is it not a problem?

Is parallax a real issue here?

I shoot right/ right eye but have taken shots on deer left hand left eye with no problem

I've done the same, but was curious if switching was something I should really try to avoid, or is it not much of an issue.

And nearly all my shots are less than 100yds.

Set up 2 targets and fire 10 rounds at each, one right eye and one left eye.
It would be good info to have.

With optics not as much, with Irons it makes a big difference. Any prism/red dot/LPVO should still do POA/POI, especially within 100 easily, outside that I don't know. Would be an interesting idea for a range day

In my experience, no. Center is center when you move your head to align sights, absent of a significant delta in astigmatism from one eye to the next that can distort your sight picture.

I zero everything right handed, but have taken shots left handed with no problems.this is with vision corrected with contacts. I suppose if there was enough difference in your eyes you may have to adjust the eyepiece to a sharpen up the reticle.
