I was at the range shooting a 45 ACP AR 15 and I noticed a big fireball coming out the end of my 45 Tirant with fixed piston. Had that one around 10 years and Ive never seen that before. The range safety guy calls a cease fire and I look at the end of my silencer and its not there. Nothings there. Just the tube. So we go down to look for the guts and 40 yards down range theres silencer baffles laying all over the place. I managed to find all the pieces and to my total surprise none of them looked damaged. The end cap threads look pretty weak but it all screws back together.

What do you think? Heading back to AAC for an evaluation?

You found everything including the end cap? And it doesn’t look like any strikes?

End threads back into the tube ok?

Be interested to hear what AAC has to say. Last couple I’ve seen returned were very pleased with the level of customer service.

Thats entirely possible but I know the end cap was on there tight when I had tightened it up the previous range trip. The end cap threads look like they just pushed through. Theyre all very shiny now. It all goes back together ans other than the threads looking funky on the end cap and being a little difficult to get started I really dont see any damage to anything . The tube threads look good and there were no baffle strikes that I can see. To be honest I dont think Ive had that thing apart 4 times in the last decade.

Now, I was running this with my new favorite AR The Bullet Hose® when it happened. I've never seen anything from AAC suggesting a minimum barrel length for 45 ACP but.....
