This is a 1967 model. Would it be a deal breaker if you were going to purchase this revolver and it has a hammer rub on one side? 20210322_223957.jpg

Does it rub when cocking and/or dropping? If so, I’d wanna try to understand why.

Price would be the only "deal breaker". 14's are nice SWs and if the overall condition were A-OK and mechanicals checked out, I'd be proud to add it to the stable I do believe.

Only if I was looking for a pristine collector example. For a nice shooter gun, I would shim the hammer to center it up to make sure it doesn't drag and affect ignition. If I was selling, I would make full disclosure; If buying I would discount it a little to cover the work. If the rest of the gun looks like the cylinder, that's a nice one.

Thanks guys it looks like the rest of the revolver is in great shape. Will know for sure when I get it.

I’ve seen several cases where a rubbing hammer caused catastrophic failure of a revolver with severe injury to the shooter. 😳

Not really. Just trying to ease the pain. 🤓
