So I, uhhhh.....I just did a thing....

So did this wee beastie come with a mold perchance?
Unfortunately, no. He did give me 10 solid shot cannonballs though...
Where did you get the barrel and what did it run you?
It's a Hern tube from 10 years ago, but fewer than 10 shots through it.

The gun, carriage, implements, bucket, accouterments, 10 solid shot, gloves, slow match, etc, etc, etc were $6500 total.

The 3 hours of conversation and helping me load the damn thing were free.

Hey, I thought I heard Sleepy Joe say you can't buy a cannon.
Bloody Eye Joe and the Jamaican Hoe don't know diddly.

That's the cool thing about playing with arms made before 1898, we don't need no stinkin permits, licenses, tags, or background checks and that includes artillery.

I always wanted to build a little Katyusha battery, maybe half scale.

$6500???

I should have gone to college. Well, I should have stayed in college.

Dang.

That's actually about $2000 less than I could find them for anywhere else. Fellow artillirists in the reenactment group I am in said it's a steal.

I also never went to college. Just a Navy Nuc turned civy nuc guy.

There is a member on here that knows someone that has tons of black powder, as he just bought 25 lbs from him.
I go through almost 40lb a year and while most folks only think of Goex, Schuetzen is out there and hasn't had a kaboom in their factory ever and yes, I'm sitting on a few pounds... maybe.... somewhere.....

I think it's more of an issue for us small users. I just need a little can to shoot my Hawken a bit but noone carries it locally and when I find it online the fees triple the cost.

I got some 777 iirc, but everything I read says it's not going to work well, even with the 209 primer adapter I have.
