Avsola is the new biologic he is on. He's has several infusions so far. He started having relief of symptoms before the second infusion.
He is dealing now with the side effects of prednisone withdrawal after having been on high doses of prednisone for several months. Prescribed a mild anti anxiety drug for this as his body starts producing normally again.
Hopefully he does not have any more ER trips for a several years. He deserves a break.
His manager at work and his long time colleagues have his back, too. After his ER visit and admission just before his wedding, a couple new employees made comments questioning whether he was actually in the hospital. Everyone put a stop to that crap immediately. The noobs were told that that kind of chatter is not tolerated.

I'm sorry, what condition was he suffering from? I'm no stranger to infusions, I'm self infusing weekly, so I know both the miraculous effects they can have when starting out,the discomfort of getting them and the dependency upon them to stay "healthy".

He was diagnosed with Crohns in his late teens. My wife has Crohns, too. But she did not develop it until her early 40's.
Humira finally got our son into remission. Everything was fine for almost a decade. Then he hit the side effect lottery. The very rare Humira side effect of Hodgkin's Lymphoma.
Once he was cancer free again, his oncologist and gastroenterologist began investigating possible treatments for crohns that minimized risk of cancer recurrence. It has been an extreme up and down year to find a new treatment. Finally on the road to recovery again.
