Southern Side-by-side Spring Classic

debating on the risk with weather friday... not too fun in the rain....

This to me is where a gun show meets an art show. Side by Side are a big part of the show but you see a lot more. I also love to watch the keepers of 100-125 plus year old treasures showing and firing these beautiful pieces. Warning: it can be contagious! But we have our own Dr. Bill (aka NiceOldDoubles) who can help solve your problem. Do yourself a favor take a friend and go enjoy a day for just the cost of gas … unless you catch the doubles bug.

Today was my introduction to a world I knew absolutely nothing about.
Very interesting reading some of the letters of authenticity that some of the guns had beside them. It's odd to see that many guns worth more than houses just sitting around.
I bought nothing. In fact, I completely forgot my wallet. But I still had a good time.
Also, there's a freaking semi trailer outfitted into a gun room with luxury recliners and stuff in it. what in the world?

Yep, Bill introduced me to the experience last year and I have been counting the days until the show happened again. Amazing amount of old doubles. Almost every make, model, and Guage is there. From 8 gauge single shots to 32 gauge doubles. All wood and blued steel. Several bespoke bolt actions, drillings and double rifles there. I can't wait for it again next year. Maybe next year all CFF members can atleast wear a CFF hat so we can meet each other.

Awesome day there today. Some very good shooting and as always beautiful works of art.

@NiceOldDouble
You were deep in conversations both times I saw you. Where was that couple from with the ties? Spain? Italy?

Sorry I missed you Sir. There were many British folks there, and a bunch of Americans dressed like they were as well.

Their Standard Manufacturing makes the DP-12 double barrel pump shotgun, old meets new.
