They were just in my neighborhood. Animal control called them.
It seems there is either a fox or coyote in a drain tile across the street. The neighbors are in a tizzy. One end of the tile is blocked and the other end has a trap set up. I don't see this working in the middle of the day.
Oh yeah, SCDNR. I almost forgot. They told the homeowners that it was nature. It wandered into the neighborhood, it will wander out. But, they also suggested that if they were concerned about it, they (the homeowners) could shoot it. That went over really well with that crowd.
I was sort of surprised at that suggestion, though. Yes, we are outside the city limits, but we are in a very typical neighborhood. Single family homes, sitting on lots between a half and one acre. Would you want to be responsible for that bullet when it leaves the gun and into a drain tile? Not me.
