I just ordered 4 liters of SpexLite 5064 bag filler, primarily for the purpose of filling my Caldwell TackDriver with it in place of the corn cob material that I've had in it for some years. I absolutely love the bag, but hauling it to matches (and from bench to bench at matches) has gotten a little burdensome -- particularly in light of a history and continuing condition of lumbar disc issues I have. At this point I'm draining the corn cob stuff out of the bag and awaiting arrival of the SpexLite.
With the corn cob material, the bag weigns in at close to 12 lbs. Very stable. š I think that if I refill it with just the SpexLite, I can get it into the range of 2 lbs., or even lower (weight of SpexLite 5064 is ~.74 lbs./gal.). But I'm thinking that may be too light (devoted to bench shooting). So a possibility would be to do something like the SpexLite in the top chambers of the bag and corn cob in the bottom ones -- maybe trying to achieve a 3-5 lb. overall weight. Anyhow, those are just some speculative thoughts. But I don't want to have to experiment too much with that because draining and filling the bag isn't all that much of an enjoyable experience.
So I'm wondering if anyone has any experience that bag fillers (especially the really light one) that might be relevant and informative.
