Springfield Armory has a new old style A2 on the market. Have we turned a point to where everything old is coming back in style? Did the resurgence of the lever gun market push the AR manufactures to see if the American population was also feeling nostalgic about ARs? What say you?

Yes, quite a while back actually.

This one's underwhelming though. I hate the markings, the price is too high. The chrome barrel is nice though.
But I could build an A2 cheaper.



Finish looks uneven too. They can't even match the upper and lowers for over $1k?

I wasn’t impressed with the aesthetics. I agree a 1K plus gun should at least have matching receivers.

I have two Colts of the same pattern, one I replaced the barrel on with a new FN barrel, the other is stock Colt, and total spent on the former was less than the SA Inc, on the latter I spent just less than half the Springfields MSRP......

I've got a Colt AR15A4 that cost less. No way I'd spring more for a Springfield.

I’d buy one to keep as a loner it’s easier to find msrp and bottom dollar on this one. I rather like the high msrp on it lol

Yes MSRP was the same on both iirc

Does it have the "burst" selector marking? Didn't the A2 have a number of functionally useful improvement over the A1?
