If Glock actually did make a 1911, I doubt they would offer the ability to create your own abomination.

I understand and I'm not their biggest fan either. I guess my point is at that price point people start thinking- i have options.

If they take glock mags and are priced under 1000, people looking for something in that market will give it stronger consideration.

When Rock island came out with their $300 1911 the guys in my gunsmithing class were like I'm not wasting my money on cheap junk. Lots of people who wanted to get into 1911's did though and they slowly earned a decent reputation.

Now those rock islands are around $600. I'm seeing the same thing starting to happen with tisas.
 
If I had one of those I’d ask every person I see at a match what they are shooting, figuring half of them will then turn around and ask me what I’M shooting.

“Me you ask? Why, I’m shooting a Platypus."

I think about that all the time. Same thing with the gi mil specs from Springfield. They were around 300 all day and shops were flooded with them.

Good point about canik. They just don't fit my hand right. Buddy of mine got one new in box when they came out for $299. He won't sell it.

A 2011 that you can completely spec yourself for 1400$ and takes cheap glock mags instead of 100$ corksniffer mags that need tuning?

Not what i meant at all. Other than the name, i don't hate it. I just think if they came in cheaper and let a buzz start, they could raise their price and eventually get to $1400.

Wasn't trying to pick on you, more picking on "us gun owners". Gun people are like guitar players and Harley dudes. It must be like the ones we've had for the last 100 years or we hate it.


I'd sure like to know I can get a decent doublestack 1911 for even 1400$?
 
Maybe i missed it but do they mention if the mag catch is metal or polymer?
 
I love the name and the concept. One of the things that has always spooked me about the 2011 game is the crazy mag prices and mag related issues.
