I got a 2011 subaru forester 5 speed to replace the wrecked minivan I am looking for a radio with a backup camera and android auto capabilities. I mainly listen to am/talk radio so audio quality is not a top priority. since the Sub does not have steering wheel audio controls they are not necessary. suggestions please. I see so many unknown brands that I get lost and dont know what is good.

JVC, Kenwood, Alpine, Clarion, Sony, JVC are all solid, and there are a number of others as well. Almost anything touch screen nowadays will have video inputs for a backup camera. If installing yourself, Crutchfield customer service is pretty great in getting you any brackets, wiring harnesses/adapters, etc. that you may need.

Crutchfield is my go to source. You can get a real person on the line and the aren’t always trying to upsell you
I was thinking about upgrading the head unit in my RAM truck but because of the Bose unit it would require damn near taking out the whole dash. The amp is behind the glovebox.
Anyway the tech at Crutchfiled actually talked me out of it.

I do electronics I spent 20 years fixing the avionics of USN aircraft and have spent the last 25 years fixing a high-tech radar system for the navy I just dont care about goos audio as I cant hear it any way to much hearing loss and hearing aids case even more background buzz

I put a JVC from Crutchfield in my '08 Outback. It has Android Auto and Apple Carplay. It will also support a backup camera. I did not install a camera though.
