I will continue to contend that it is not the potential of the "weapon" (I call them tools, not unlike knives), but the miscreants using them to impart malice! What says thee?

The first sentence states, "Modified guns can act like semi-automatic firearms, causing damage that can be lethal in the wrong hands."

Quite possibly the most retarded thing I’ve read today, but the day is young!!

Sir, my point exactly! My SW 442 has Uncle Mikes grips hence, "Modified". If I've had one too many cups of coffee, it indeed behaves like a semi-auto and indeed thus can cause damage that, "can be lethal".

Even funnier (sort of not), the piece is about guns modified to fire full auto..........the title, "........act like semi-automatic".

Modified Guns Capable Of High-Caliber Damage Are Making Their Mark

That’s frightening! 😳

IIRC, your 442 fires a 38, more than 4 times as lethal as a 9. 😵‍💫

Would these people consider a double action revolver to be a semi-automatic since it will fire with only the pull of the trigger?

The media can keep people ignorant by promoting ignorance. Ignorant people are easier to fool and easier to lead down the wrong paths.

I watched many others in my younger years in the 70's and early 80's that simply could not help themselves from doing very stupid things with the muscle cars back then. Some paid for those actions with their very lives along with others who were innocent. I ran the Chevy's with the modified big block engines and enjoyed the power, action, and experience they brought to me as I had to work and pay for every single one.

I treat firearms just like I did those power house Chevys back then and am still alive. Simply put..........anything in the wrong hands brings different consequences.

I've always said that you could lay a fully loaded firearm on the sidewalk on any street, and it would hurt no one until some lunatic picked it up and made it function.

Awesome analogy sir.

It's not about truth. It's not about logic. It's about scaring the sheep and giving them a pre determined opinion.

I'm convinced of that my friend. The efforts to scare the sheep are mounting every day.

A quick story: My great grandmother had a wonderful farmhouse on about 200 acres up north. I loved it there........I could write a book! In any case, I was poking around one of the barns one day and came across an old SW revolver (an old .32 HE if memory serves). It had each chamber stoked with period ammo. Gun had sat there for who knows how long and never once discharged on its own. It now resides in the jfan collection, but the point is: it was stoked and ready to go, lifeless and harmless, until which time I placed my self behind it.

Additionally, it is an inanimate object. It has no brain/senses, cannot make decisions and is incapable of “acting”.

It will only do what the individual controlling it wishes…no more, no less.

I didn't watch it, so could someone be so kind as to tell me at what point they mention "common sense thug control"? Then I can fast-forward and watch from that point. Thank you! 🤔

Worth a look, but in summary: semi-auto tools being modified to fire full auto.

I was once sent a battlefield pickup luger from WW2 by a family member, it had sat in a drawer since brought back. Fully loaded, even cocked. Came from one of the more evil attempts at empire building and still was unable to unleash it’s fury given about 65 years to try. Wish I still had it.

I was thinking about cars in the MSN example myself. I had a Volkswagen when I was 16 that the hood would fly up at 55+ mph. Always exciting. 😂

That was intentional! ............they were air cooled after all! ;) The air would come in through the hood, be directed ice cold across your feet, flow through the back seat (making any unsuspecting passengers miserable (OK, they weren't miserable because they were high) then into the motor/engine! The perfectly designed air cooled technology!

p.s. - How in the hell did you get yours to go 55?? Did you throw a dual carb on that thing??

Any gun is only a tool . It is the hand that holds it that decides if It’s use is good or bad.

Nothing more, nothing less.

I would, especially if Jerry Miculek is holding it.

Firearms are considered by many to be just tools. I understand that point of view but also realize that the boundary between tool and art is easily crossed with firearms. I hunt with my Parker shotguns but also appreciate the artistry and chraftmenship that was needed to produce them.

I certainly agree that a firearm, be it art or tool, causes no harm on its own.

They're going to make them double illegal. Or introduce new gun control to screw over legal and responsible owners. Probably the latter, if I had to guess.

cleverly worded - they say the gun was equipped with a switch, but not that the switch was being used.
also, "if you listen" you can tell...
i did listen... bang bang bang does not equal brrrrrrt
