looking for a .38. considering an excellent condition tau 85 vs a new 856.
i would appreciate your revolver opinions.

Mainly just 5 vs 6 round, not much else different. I'd get the 3" defender unless you plan on pocket carrying. I love my 3" 38 lcrx, better sight radius and balance than the 1.8" one

I have an early 90's 85 I bought new. I wouldn't sell it for twice what I paid for it.

thanks for confirming my decision.
i bought from a friend, sight unseen. was about to get the 856 when this on came available. apparently almost new. comes with box, papers, etc.
