Thanksgiving food sucks

Not turkey basher here but have a suggestion for those who are not enjoying it as they once did. We have, for the last couple years, been buying a spiral sliced ham with the bone in and finishing cooking it on the grill covered with aluminum foil until the last 30 minutes. Uncover it and mix up the brown sugar spice concoction and paint all the ham with said concoction then siphon of about half of the juice produced while heating and turn up to high heat and lightly brown it on the outside, rewrap it with the foil until serving time and enjoy it for two or three meals, depending on the size you have chosen and the number of folks partaking.

I pity you guys.

My son in law spatchcocked (is that how you use that word) a turkey and cooked it on his pellet smoker. It sat in 5 gal bucket of brine before that.

It was the literal star of the show yesterday.

That sounds like something that belongs in the basement.

Thanks. Because they're partnering with the enemy of liberty and peace, I'll spend my money elsewhere, "Chaudry Halal Meat Company ~ processes all of our meats except pork due to religious beliefs."

I'll stick with Bill, if he isn't already, he'd for right in here.
He had a neighbor that was providing grass fed/pasture raised pork.

Your choice. However, first off, the son that ran the company died of Covid in Sept. Yes, his parents are immigrants from Pakistan and they are Muslim. Apparently, though their processing and cleanliness standards are very high as several local farms use them and they are the dole beef processor for Whole Foods in NC. Before becoming “legit” they ran a bootleg meat processing business and gave the USDA a big middle finger.

As far as the farmers go, they are more “liberal” on some social issues, but they also homeschool their children who were raised with a work ethic Thst is uncommon today. They are also good people, hard working, and honest. They’ve told me that if I need meat, I know where the freezer is and just to settle up when we can, as well as delivering to your home if you’re fairly local. They also managed to escape from NY.

Im not a big fan either. I told my wife if turkey was such a great meal, why don't we eat it any of the other 364 days a year? She agreed and this year we had Thanksgiving steak, lamb chops, and chicken wings. All the sides remained the same.... best Thanksgiving we've ever had. I'm not looking back:p

Why couldn’t the Indians brought a cow instead of a Turkey😎 I much rather have a hamburger and gravy than Turkey and stuffing.

You need to buy a smoker!!!
