While I'm not a big jake Gyllenhaal fan, but I do generally like Guy Ritchie movies
I decided to give this one a try
I enjoyed it, the signature Guy Ritchie action and a pretty good script .
Worth a watch

Interesting plot.

About a third of the way through it. Pretty good so far. I am a sucker for Jake G though.

I am bothered by how he is holding the rifle here though

Meh
Guy Ritchie was great. Then Madonna ruined him…

I thought it was ok. No great and witty dialogue, not the greatest action scenes…

Did a good job at showing how we just shit on and abandoned people who risked their life as well as their families to help the US.

And how a community of former and current US military and private citizens helped rescued some of them when the government wouldn’t.

I thought it was a pretty appropriate movie for the current times.

It took me thinking about the movie to understand the common theme, 'covenant', beyond the relationship between the main character and Ahmad. The main character was expecting people to keep their word throughout the movie, and in turn he always kept his. That was important to him.

One of the things that did bug me was Gyllenhaal was SF, but was from/based in Cali, where there is no SF. Just a little thing.

I dig the brief AC-130 scene.

Just finished this with the wife, she was in awe of how we treat those who help us.
This follows her watching Charlie Wilson's War on Friday night

I really liked this movie
First combat scene was such a bummer - I knew nothing of the plot before watching, no trailer or anything, so it was a surprise.
Had a very Lone Survivor feel to it

That’s been going on in every country since the dawn of time.

For the US you don’t have to look further than the Montagnards.
