I have the believe there's some sort of twist to this story's plot that makes it different than Terminator...

I think the plot twist is that the robot AI is not an unfeeling/uncaring thing that just wants annihilation. More of a "we dont want to be slaves" kinda thing perhaps. Its still a re-wrapped concept, but looks kinda interesting.
