The neverending fight; or, what lubricants/cleaners to use.

1. Frog Lube really does smell good. sort of like Sun Tan Lotion.
2. Mobil 1 is a good one. a lifetime supply cost me eleven bucks.
3. as you can see, i'm a sucker for this stuff. except grease. no.

Frog lube is coconut oil. Fireclean is canola oil. Use anything you like, with a viscosity that keeps it where you need it without gumming it up. Oil is oil in a gun. I use whatever freebie oil I got at the last big match.

Brake clean to clean. Hitachi Gold aka Hitachi 46HN for oil. Some purple extreme duty grease if ever needed. Because I can.

For the last few months I've been using Pro Shot's BIO 4X LP with good results. Before that I was using Hoppe's Elite.

I'm a fan of G96's Complete Gun Treatment CLP.

I have a few cans of Rem-Oil hanging around, too.

Tomorrow my order of Gunfighter oil will be here. A lot of 1911 folks have been speaking highly of it and I decided I'd see if the hype is real.

I use Pro Shot 1 step solvent/lube. Been using it a few years now with good success.

A user from the other board made a mix of synthetic ATF and synthetic 0-20 oil from Toyota, he called it Chuck Noriss Tears. I've ran it in my AK during a 1500rnd class and never reoiled it during. So I'll be using that mix from here on out and reg old white lithium grease. My 2 AKs, shotgun, 1911, and plastic guns all run that mix.

I'm ambi-luberous. Ballistol, Remlube, RIG grease, etc. depending on the use.

I just have to remind myself that for like 150 years, none of the hi-tech Does-All Magic lubes were available and people got on just fine without them.

G-96 and Breakfree (for about 35 years), but I try everything, Good 'ol #9 for when the barrel is really cruddy, but I have been playing with Slip2000 EWL lately, we'll see how it does tomorrow morning at freezing for the USPSA match.

I like Slip 2000's EWG on slides.
