Wanted to share with my brothers here.

There is an event called "The Quest" that I wanted to share here and hopefully motivate some of you gentlemen to perhaps participate.

Here is the link: https://www.thequestlife.com/

To preface, I cannot give a lot of details as to what goes on during a Quest week, because it is unique and individual for everyone that attends, and the program has a structure and meaning that must be revealed as the week progresses.

It is a 5.5 day retreat that is structured to get you closer to God, the Holy Spirit, and who you are as a warrior for God. On my event, there were 28 of us, and that many or more volunteers to make it work. Part of the event is going that entire time with limited to no contact with the outside world. They recommend leaving cellphones turned off, no laptops or computers. There is structured group discussions, mercy seats, and presentations. There is a lot of praise and worship time as well. But, there is also a lot of silence. Time for you to retreat into the woods and meditate, pray, and study scripture. Their program is highly organized and directed. You will be given a "workbook" to carry with you for the week to guide you. There is a day of fasting, from both speaking and eating.

The accommodations, at least for the location in GA, are very similar to summer camp as a kid. There are two large cabins with bunk beds for questers to use. When I was there, I had one I slept in, and one I stored my gear. Meals are provided, and the quality was excellent. You are welcome to bring outside drinks and snacks as you wish, but you wont be spending much time at the cabins. If you are physically challenged as far as walking or hiking, they have transportation to and from everywhere you will need to go.

The book of James is the primary source you will be looking at during the month prior, week of, and month after the event, but you will study dozens and dozens of passages and praying through. You will walk out scripture multiple times. You will find comfort and healing.

Before I went, I questioned spending 5.5 days (Sunday afternoon to Friday afternoon) away from my family, work, and everything with limited contact. But when I got in the car to leave on Friday I couldnt wait to volunteer to return. In my 46 years of life, it was, without a doubt, the most impactful week of my life.

The cost of the event in GA is $500, as the guy who owns the farm/camp it takes place on donates $200 for each person that attends. After having gone through it, for me personally, the week was priceless and $500 was nothing. If yall have any questions, feel free to ask.
