At a dollar per pound for the brass, that's not too bad at least.

Way back in the dark ages, when I bought my Colt 1991A1 in 1991, the local gun shop sold reloads for $6/box of 50. If you brought all the brass back, they'd discount $1 off the price, so their .45ACP reloads were $5/box.

I just looked up the brass per pound for .45 ACP, and the site below says "62.3" per pound.

Wow!! That is some good looking ammo. I imagine he paid as much attention to the powder charge as well.
