Three Systems in the Atlantic.

If the 3 merge, will they call it the Andrea Gail?

Its that time of the year where TC initiation and development transitions to the eastern ATL near Cabo Verde and west Africa so all is normal.

The West Pacific off of China/Japan has been very active this week with 4 named systems and a possible 5th later tonight or tomorrow.

That all said, it is time to check your preparations, run the genset (with a load), and rotate out old gas with new (if not already doing so).

It’s been on my mind. I dread it.
Ran one generator this week for awhile. Fuel in it was from 2019, 93 ethanol free with star tron stabilizer. Cranked on the third pull and is now cranking on the first after running it using a skil saw for several hours over two days. Need to check my others and chainsaws. Battery supply for fans and lanterns is still good. Do need to fill the rest of my gas cans and try to keep trucks topped up.

Mid-August typically is the real start for major storms … the Gulf Stream waters are at their warmest temps and winds turn favorable to allowing storms to form and sustain their structure.

I got a bad feeling about this season … with the crap we’re dealing with now on the C-19 front, border security, tensions in many cities, etc all we need is a bad Cat 3 or 4 to run up the East Coast and really screw up things … 2021 might be doing its Jack Nicholson imitation …

A Cat 3 hitting New Jersey would be great entertainment. :)

The Weather Channel ad rates Just went up!!! Those Bastids LOVE a storm!!!

My Pard Ron Strachan in Nags Head tells me old Jim Cantori is Persona Non Grata on the Outer Banks...seems he left a $400 bar tab behind. Ever notice how he is never the one on the Outer Banks any more.

Not fear mongering but it has been said the waters are 3 degrees above normal and the warmth goes a lot deeper then normal this year.

This attributed to the size and scope of Katrina. Waters were two degrees above average that year.

Who knows what will happen. I’m glad o know the ONE that controls it all

Made the OP just to give everyone a heads up about what might be coming this year.

Keep your powder dry, stay safe, and may God bless.

Well one has survived and seems to be heading into the Gulf … but it could turn and run up the east coast as heavy rain and such mid-next week. It also will likely be just one of a few more to threaten the Carolinas in some form the next 1 1/2 or so. With all the C-19 stuff starting up and more likely coming time to make sure you are ready or at least getting off to good start. You know the idiots will wait ‘til the MSM starts their BS and the panic rush will empty the shelves for that few days. Be smart and start now …
