Got sticker shock looking for tires. I'm within 5k miles of needing new truck tires. My normal Goodrich P265 16" All Terrain T/As are running $257 each. An equal tread Firestone is about $200 each. Is anybody running firestones these days? This next set will probably outlive me.

Shoot. Try having 20 inch wheels and an HD truck. 400 a tire.

Firestones are good tires. Just get a fresh alignment and keep them aired properly and rotate them and youll get the life out of any of them.

Last year they were 300ish each. #FJB

I was close on a set about 4 months ago. I went ahead and got them right at Christmas. I thought things were only going to get worse with Brandon. They did.

I've had good luck with cheap eBay tires. Running off brands on the crown vic and my passat. No issues. I don't remember the size on the CV, but a set of 4 was under $400. Ride quiet, seems to have pretty good treadwear, great in the rain.

Maybe not.

Back in October I had my tires rotated and balanced at Discount Tire, where I bought them. Of course the sales guy checked the tread depth, 4/32", and of course he said that's where they recommend replacing them. He also said tires now last so long that they will sometimes start to dry rot or crack before the tread wears out.

Last month I sold the car, 77,000+ miles on the tires. Tires passed inspection 1,200 miles earlier. When I was washing it for pictures for a sales ad I did notice some cracking starting on two of them along the side of the tread.

I put 82,000 on the Goodyear Wranglers that came on my 2017 Ford truck. Just put Michelin Defender LTXs on. $1400 with alignment. I might have sprung for a warranty, too. $50?

They better outlive me.

I have Firestones on my Tundra. Like them better than the BF Goodrich that I had before but both were fine. (Previous we’re A/T KO2’s I believe) Glad I won’t be shopping for a while. But while there’s plenty to blame Sleepy Joe for, this inflation isn’t really one of them.

Yep.

Just bought tires all around on my wife's Expedition a couple months ago. $997 and change. Last time before that it was around $600.

Replaced the front tires on my now deceased FIL's Silverado and that ran me about $550 today.

I feel for you.

EDIT:

Firestone has been all I've put on our vehicles for a good number of years, now. Proper care has always seen more miles than they were rated for.
