As yet all of my 1911s are full sized standard models, which I've never had issues with. But here lately I've been looking for a more carry friendly model in the Commander length.

And last night I believe I struck paydirt, as I discovered the Stingray Carry from Tisas. First thing I noticed was that it's bobbed like an Ed Brown type, and the fit and finish appear to be first rate, and it's a 9mm, single stack, with 10 rounds on tap.

I have sure been looking for nearly this same 1911 type, might just spring for it once the tax return hits.........

Anybody here have any experience with the Tisas 1911s?

All the Tisas guns through here have been exemplary, you can't go wrong....NOW...please don't be offended....if you need to wait for your tax return to buy this toy....use the money for something else for the family......

I am the FAMILY B.O.B.....

Finding a holster (leather, preferably), is starting to drive me nuts lol

My Tisas service model is not perfect but for $330 shipped I’m happy with it. the extractor fit was poor. It had heavy clocking due to a loose firing pin stop. All of this translated to all sort of cycling problems. I replaced the firing pin stop with an EGW oversize one, which fixed the extractor clocking, then reshaped the extractor hook to achieve proper case rim engagement and deflection (Thanks to several CFF forum members for suggesting). it runs much better now but still occasionally misfeeds. It is a good pistol, but I would be hesitant to carry a Tisas unless an experienced 1911 gunsmith looked it over and I had at least 1000 trouble free rounds through it.

my Tisas is primarily the platform I’ve used to learn pistol cartridge reloading (45 auto) and for this purpose it has been an excellent value.

This applies to Any auto pistol to me......still only One pistol by brand that has never malfunctioned here....Beretta

And the Brownells, FEDEX, and my address drama deepens. Paid for second day shipping and due "circumstances beyond our control", it was delayed almost a day in Des Moines........

This model is the aluminum frame lightweight version if I'm not mistaken
Which makes it even more carry friendly

Arrived at my LGS this afternoon, I'll pick it up later this a.m., mags from Brownells are still in limbo, I swear their association with FEDEX is just enough to drive you crazy

Sorry to hear of all the crapola😳. Hope things get better soon for you

Things are great to be honest, I'm mobile in a way that I haven't been the last three years.
Now I'm catching up on all the additions I made to the collection.
