OK- I toy with changing my carry weapon from time to time. I have been carrying a Glock 23 since about 91. I also have a 17 that I carry when I feel I need and can conceal a full size pistol. I train with the 17 more than I do the 23 due to the cost of ammo and the 23 is a bit snappy. Both are Gen 2. I have updated the 23 with night sights and better op rod, spring etc..... I have toyed with a compact but still want the high capacity mags. Should I move into the compact glock category- and- which one ? Or does what I have fill the bill? WTDAYATINK?

If you want decent capacity and 9mm instead of the 40, get a 19. You can use your 17 mags as your spares, keep the shorter 19 mag in there for ease of carry.

I used to carry a G27, shot a G22 for fun. After putting many thousand rounds through the 22, I picked up a G19 and the difference in accuracy was unreal. I now carry a 19 or 43. I'm actually more accurate with my 19 than my 17. FWIW.

As is the answer in any thread in where someone asks for an opinion on which Glock......get a 19.

If you can conceal a 17 comfortably, then I wouldn't even worry about it. If you think you could conceal a 19 better and more comfortable, then sure.

All I'd put on it is better sights. I don't do any of the other stuff but that's all up to you.
